Adam may not be the son of Robert de Brusee, but rather that of another Robert de Brusi who is a son of Rognvald Brusason. He may also be the son of Ulf Rognvaldsson, or that of Rognvald II Brusason himself.

We have changed the lineage of the main Bruce line to reflect the alternate, and more likely, descent from Lambert I of Louvaine. However, it is believed that there was another Brus line in Scotland at the time of Robert de Bruges' arrival, which may be descended from Brusi Sigurdsson as the Bruce family was claimed to have been.
