Benjamin was baptised in September,1723. His family dates to 1646 in New York.

Benjamin went to Texas with Braddock in 1755 and returned to Pennsylvania in 1757. He was a justice of the Youghio- gheny County, Virginia court. The land south of the Monongahela River, near the Youghiogheny, belonged to, or rather was claimed by Virginia and was called Youghiogheny County, District of West Augusta, Virginia. The first court house was on the hill above Elrama, Pennsylvania (Allegheny County), on the farm of Andrew Heath.

Benjamin Kuykendall with Gabriel Peterson and others settled on the property which is now Clairton, Pennsylvania. He is buried in the little graveyard that was on his farm and is now hemmed in by the Carnegie Steel Company, the railroad and the county road.
